26 Oct Father-daughter tandem wins MassKara dance contest
A father-daughter dance duo from Barangay Handumanan, and a singer from Brgy. Granada were declared champions of “Tanda! Sing Na, Dance Pa” during the grand finals Saturday [Oct. 22] at the Bacolod Public Plaza.
Nahum Jucal bested eight other singers, while dance duos John Paul Edang and his daughter Arianna Paul Edang bested eight other pairs. Other winners for the singing category were: Pearly Lane Puertas of Brgy. 1— first runner-up; and Reysa Jane Escana of Brgy. Taculing—2nd runner-up.
For the dancing duo category, Joshua Jumuad and Jaypee Jumuad of Brgy. Villamonte were 1st runner-up; and Rowen Borja and John Nathaniel Inoy of Brgy. Mansilingan—2nd runner-up. The champions received P3,000 for each category; P2,000—1st runner-up; P1,000—2nd runner-up; and P500 for consolation prizes.
An official event of the 37th MassKara Festival, “Tanda!” first started in 2012 when the Silver MassKara Festival Organization was the organizer of the festival.
It entered into its second year this year with SMFO as the festival organizer again.*
